return line humming-HELP-

Ok i just got the tank up at running and my return line is humming thru out the entire house. i use a md5 pump with a head of 9 ft or so. I have about 1 ft of spaflex line on the out put of the pump, and its pcv pipe the rest of the way to the tank, It seems the farther away from the pump the more vibration i get. i have tried foam on the pipe, i have tried clamping it tight, clamping it tight with foam around it, pump is sitting on rubber pads, any advice would be appreciated

Do most ppl use flex line on both ends of the run or just at the pump? I only have it at the pump.

Putting a good foot of vinyl tubing will help cut the vibration a good bit. I have even purchased silicone tubing to run between the outlet and the rigid piping.

The flex PVC is still pretty rigid so it may not be as effective as vinyl

Make sure none of the pipe is touching any part of the house. Use pipe hangers instead of clamps.

i did move it away from the joists and that helped some but not enough. I think james might be right that spaflex is pretty rigid, i think i will replace it with vinly tomorow and see if that helps.

It will. Just make sure it doesn't flatten out.
