Is this a sponge?

I noticed this growing on some button polyps I bought.

Is it a sponge and if so, what kind?

I'm 99% sure it is a sponge. What kind? A yellow one... seriously, there are thousands of sponges, I have no idea. But most sponges are good for reef tanks, they help clean the water.
