Post will my mushroom coral die

so i recently bought a mushroom coral 2 weeks ago and it's doing fin but doesn't look very happy. the person at the lfs said that i needed to do water changes every week since i can't afford a sump or a skimmer (i'm still a student). i read today that mushroom corals should be placed in the corner or at the bottom of the tank but i don't think i can place it there because my tomato clownfish likes to kick up sand with her fins which makes the sand get everywhere! so please help me on where to place my mushroom coral. Thank You i also got a fan yesterday any idea on when to turn it on or off? ( i live in thailand so it gets really hot during the day)
