Biopellets or UV Sterilizer?

These have completely different functions, but it looks as if only one can be used at a time. If you have to choose one or the other for overall health of your system, water clarity, and filtration, which one would you choose?

My new setup will have around 200g total volume. I have used sterilizers in the past on smaller setups and have had good results for what they are used for. I have never used biopellets but would like to give them a try on this system. I plan to have this tank highly stocked with SPS. Any preferences?

UV Sterilizers are a waste of money so between the two I have to vote for biopellets. Although you could just dose vinegar, vodka or another source of carbon for much cheaper.

UV Sterilizers are not a waste of money...that is just your opinion.

if you never had an issue controlling nitrates or phosphates stick with what works for you.

And you can run both at the same time.

Dose carbon... no need for a reactor. Waste of money...IMO.

So i vote for UV and dose carbon!
