If you have any reefer friends with a refugium you can ask to get some excess chaeto algae that they trim away. Put that in your sump and keep a light on it. If you don't have a sump you can also leave it in your main display though it may look a bit funny. Chaeto algae seems to have just as much if not more micro crustaceans and life in it than live rock. At least from what I can see - I've never broke open live rock to see what is living inside the holes.

what were you expecting to get? I'm guessing you were looking for some worms or crabs or something? I'm sure your LR had some pods and such on them, you just can't see them.

Just wait and the stowaways will start coming out. I'm sure there are bristle worms in your rocks. IMO, they car cool.. Kind of ugly but cool none-the-less.

Give it time, things will show up out of your rock and coral frags years later.

ya just give it time, I'm sure you have plenty of stuff, you just can't see them all right now. You could always buy some inverts if you want to see things

As everyone else is saying. Stuff will show up over time. I seem to get more from ,as someone was saying, coral and mushroom rocks and stuff like that. I live near Premium Aquatics and bout a mushroom rock there one time and about 6 months later the same rock had some kind of toadstool on it. It also had a brittle star in it. Kinda cool because when I got home and took my bag out of the bag. It had came out and was in another coner. That is how I know the brittle came from the shroom rock. Anyways they will come.. give it some time.

I had a thought after I posted. You could always trade some rubble with a local buddy and you are sure to carry in some cool stuff that way.
