Identify this for me please





Just saw this thing tonight. It moves around so at least i know its alive. if anyone knows what this is, please tell me if its good or bad. thanks for your time

It's a Chiton and a useful little critter to have (I think). Here is a link to some info (take note of the life span):

You're welcome. And I get up most days between 3 and 5am. I'd love to have a few of those chitons, they look so primative. We have them in the Florida Keys and I've collected a few. But the species I've found are tidal and are willing to climb up into the dry and stay there until the tide comes back up. Well, in our QT (I quarantine everything) they actually climbed up and out of the tank! So I ended up putting them back.
