Next newer gen vortech?
Anyone have an idea of the refresh timetable for those ecotech vortech power heads? Right now they have the mp40, mp10 and mp60 all in esW but is the refresh sometime this year? Also, what do you guys see will be in the upcoming models?

I imagine the next refresh will be to the mp40. As for when. My guess is it will be later then sooner. There really is no reason to wait for a refresh. The current models are stellar.

Ecotech has a strict policy on not letting any info on what they are working on until its time for release...With that said I agree with tke

What more can you really do with this pump.
Maybe a cup holder then it would have everything. Just kidding but seriously what else could be done, anything else would just drive the price up another 200 bucks. |

Just curious. I guess they can make it in pink. Just kidding...
I'm thinking perhaps make the controller Internet accessible or find a way to keep the wet side last a little longer. I read somewhere that the wet side gets replaced once every year or two. Another idea is to make it a little quieter. The cost will probably go up regardless. Just a thought. |

And if something does start to wear out its like $30 to rebuild it. No big deal.

I was hoping that they revamped the wetside on the mp40 like the mp10s or the mp60s. I got rid of mine because I did not like replacing the wetside parts every year or so. I have the mp60 and mp10s without issue. The mp40 definitely needs an overhaul. I might buy 4 of it again if they made it into a smaller "mp-60".

I think the whole pump will be outside of the tank on the next gen, maybe even in the sump

making the mp40 the same as the mp60 actually sounds right so it can align their deployment strategy and timeline. their products are definitely awesome but kind of expensive. they have to come out with something new or really improve in order to keep charging customers that premium amount. |

I was actually thinking of that too. would be nice for it to have a USB port, and touch pad interface that has an ethernet port so you can manage it. perhaps we could change the flow settings remotely would be nice...

biggest area that could be improved upon is noise level. another nice feature that could be added would be a rudder or some sort of way to direct the flow where you want it to go. although I imagine there would be some concern that if water isn't being blasted straight out it could cause the wet side to become misaligned. at any rate this would be a nice feature if they could do it.

They can be improved - my primary complaint is noise, and I think a fair amount could be done to reduce that. As far as I can tell, there's currently no sound insulation on the dry side at all.
