I guess the most irritating thing for me in reef keeping is explaining to my friends that all the "plants" in my tanks are actually corals. The only thing they recognize as non plant is my "anemone" (frogspawn). I have to explain to them why my "retarded Nemo" is staying in the "weird plant" (bubble tip anemone) instead of the "anemone" (frogspawn). Thirty year old adults referring to fish as "Nemo"
For actual husbandry, I think the job I dislike the most is vacuuming the sand bed. It is a pain to get under some of the rocks with a siphon. I also dislike having to remember my RO/DI unit is on when refilling the ATO. I have had too many accidents to count now. |

Being that i always have to be tinkering with something doing regular maintenance doesn't bother me one bit. As far as water changes and RO/DI, i have storage that feeds my sump automatically and my ro unit is controlled by a solenoid on a timer that keeps it from running away. I guess what i could actually say is the most annoying thing to me is putting back all the corals that the snails and hermits knock over in the night.

Cleaning salt creep, cleaning dustly and sticky salt creep, and cleaning the precipitate out of my salt water make-up tank.
It used to be water changes because I hate lugging full 5 gallon buckets around, but then I found my single best aquarium related purchase ever... an LM3 set up as a continuous water changer.
