How far can RO water travel?

I have a set up in my basement where my RO unit is about 25' from my reservoir. Is it conceivable to run a line that far or am I to be lugging water forever? Also how much height difference can I have between RO unit and the reservoir?

I have my RO running down into the crawl space ~6 feet down, then over ~75ft and back up 6 feet to my auto top off reservoir. You should have no problem. try it out and see. If your home water pressure is low you may need a booster pump, but that doesn't seem likely.

Would it impact it's efficiency?

It sounds like you have a water filter in the basement and you're wanting the RO filter to deliver water from the basement to a different level of the house. Although 25' of tubing is is not a big deal, 25' straight up is a different story. That will add head pressure to the product line of the filter and should negatively effect efficiency. My suggestion would be to put the RO/DI water storage container near the water filter and then pump the water to any other storage container as needed.

Yes, if you are running 25' up that would definitely decrease efficiency, but if you are only going up 6-8' I wouldn't think that would be too much of a problem. Mine still runs at 40-60 PSI and it takes about 2 hours to fill up a 5 gallon reservoir from a 75 gph RO/DI unit

I have a 75 foot long tube on my ro/di unit. Instead of putting it into a bucket, I just run the tube across my has to my ato or a tub next to the tank and let it run. Not pushing stuff around for me.

Sorry about the confusion. I want to move the water about 25' laterally with a rise of about 5'. I do have a permeate booster pump on my RO unit as well.

It's always good to hear from people with experience. Sometimes you think something will work until until you find out the hard way after you spent the time and the money.

I have a 30' long horizontal run with no issues. Only a 2' rise.

the distance is not a problem but I would recommend allowing the water to run into a sink for a 5-10 minutes so the water in the line gets out and new RO is flowing into your reservoir. I recommend everyone do this but especially if you are hiding the line in walls or not taking the line down after each use
