Anthias missing

I have had 3 Bartlett's anthias (about 2" each) in a 125g for about 4 months. The first few days after they were originally introduced I rarely saw them, but after that they were out swimming around when the lights were on.

A few days ago I introduced 3 lyretail anthias (about 1" each)... The lyretails have pretty much been hiding, coming out only to sporadically feed, with the rest of the fish ignoring them. The Bartlett's initial just went about their usual routine.

Now today, none of the Bartlett's or lyretails have been spotted... Not even during feeding. I wouldn't think 6 fish would suddenly die, and the rest of the fish (goldflake angel, black tang, snowflake clowns) are all fine.

Not exactly sure what happened. I can see the lyretails hiding, but I'm not sure what is going on with the Bartlett's...

Ya, its just weird since I haven't seen any of them for two days.

Hopefully they will reappear soon.

The snowflake clowns may have eaten them.

Probably not though.

I'm not sure if this is your issue or not, but Bartletts are notorious for pecking off each other until there is just one pair.
They could have had a hand in the missing lyretails, maybe, but many anthias are also known to carry parasites, that may be an issue w/ the new lyretails.

The lyretails were QTd, they looked OK, but they weren't treated for parasites.

I don't think harassment is the issue, since all 6 disappeared simultaneously. Same with disease. I am hoping that they are all just hiding in the LR, but I haven't seen so much as a flash of fin from any of them.

No, haven't seen any sign of them.

On 3/15 the 3 Bartlett's were swimming about the tank as normal and a would see flashes of the 3 lyretails in the LR, especially during feeding...

Starting on 3/16, not a sign of any of the 6 fish. Every other fish in the tank is accounted for and acting normally.

I've been in this hobby awhile and haven't experienced anything quite like this before.

Thats honestly perplexing as all mighty heck. I wonder if there is an "anthias" specific disease? I could not imagine all of them in a cave playing cards together!?

Its really weird. I know anthias are prone to some internal parasites.... But if it were a disease, I would think they would die gradually and would have shown some signs prior to disappearing.

I am going to give them at least a week... I'm hoping at least a few of them are still alive...
