Magic eraser is an abrasive foam. It's actually scratching the surface, just smaller then you can see.

You can use them to whiten your teeth, but it will make your dentist very angry.....

For tank cleaning buy one of the toilet cleaner wands with the pinching fingers normally used for disposable pads. "scrubbing bubbles is 100% plastic " Then just grip the foam and go....

I am sorry guys but I would never use an Mr. Clean Magic Eraser®
Original
Ingredient Purpose: Melamine Polymer Abrasive foam in my tank you just don't know what that Foam can do later on down the road to your livestock. I would never take that chance.

Ummm melamine foam is just a cracked out, plasticized version of styrofoam..... I don't get it....

I'm willing to bet you have at least 1 melamine plate, cup or bowl in your kitchen....

Theres no issue with it unless your fish actually ingest it. It has no active ingredient (hence no way for "chemical" to leach out of it.)
