Vertex 100gpd RO/DI not filling

Hopefully someone here can offer some input

I got a Vertex 100GPD unit with the booster pump and TDI monitor last week. It filled my new sump no problem and shut down when the float valve closed. It's been like that for a week while I waited for rock and sand to get here. Now that the tank is ready to be filled with R/O water, I can't get the unit to acknowledge that the pressure has been released from the float switch. The controller still says 'reservoir full' even though I've completely taken off the float switch.

Unplugging then re-plugging in the unit causes it to go through a flush cycle, in which water comes out both the waste line and the output line, but as soon as it's over, it goes back to saying that the reservoir is full.

Any ideas?

Not that I can see, I took the R/O canister out of it's bracket to see, and when I snapped it back in, it started working, but only ran for 5 minutes before deciding the reservoir was full again

Try just to drain running with out the di cartridge in it

I turned off the source water and unhooked the high pressure switch from the system, and it instantly kicked back on to filling mode (yay wet floors while it emptied itself). I took out the switch thinking it was sticking and took it apart, but while I was sitting here unscrewing the pressure switch, the brain on the unit decided the reservoir was full again (even though there was no source water) and started a flush cycle (leading to even wetter floors). I'm thinking there's something wrong with the controller?

ok, so I think I figured it out, there was a problem with the pressure switch, and taking it apart seems to have fixed it. But when I put it back all together the unit just kept coming on, running for a few second, deciding the reservoir was full, then flushing, then as soon as the water stopped coming out of the end of float switch, it would turn back on. So I'm pretty sure that the float switch was restricting the water enough to trigger the High Pressure switch.

Now that I have it running without the float switch, it's producing continuously, but my TDS has gone from 0 to 08-07. These are brand new membranes that have only produced about 120 gallons of water so far, is this normal? Is it possible that I got the waste lines switched with the output line when I put the RO unit back on?

Sigh, yep, sure did reverse the waste water with the output lines. The water smelled skunky, and it was coming out with a surprising amount of pressure. I switched the hoses on the RO unit, and the TDS fell to zero, the smell disappeared, and the water pressure went back to something reasonable.

Now if only I hadn't put an inch of waste water in to my freaking tank!

At 8 that ain't bad for waste line you have pretty clean water as is. I don't even replace at 8 since I burn di resin faster than you can say see spot run
