I thought you were joking. Do not put your clam in fresh water!

Do NOT fresh water dip your clam. How long has the tank been set up/how long did you wait to put the clam in the tank. It looks like some of your gravel has cyano on it from the pic.

I noticed your clam looked good on the rock scape and not so good where it is now? How long has it been on the substrate. Try putting it back on the rock in the original pic ?
Never heard of freshwater dip for clam.

Seriously? I've read over and over again that fresh water dips are the cure-all for clams, even bringing them back from certain death from the dreaded pinched mantle. I didn't want to bring pinched mantle into my tank, so I dipped my maxima and it's fine.
I took a specimen container, filled it about half way with RO/DI water, and hung it on the rim of my sump until the temp was equal to the tank temp. I pulled the clam out of the fish store bag and placed it in the specimen container for about 20 minutes. Pulled it out, placed it in the dark in the sump for about 20 minutes, then placed it in the tank under just actinics. It opened up about half way almost immediately, and was fully open during the daytime light cycle the next day. No clam will ever go in my tank without a fresh water dip first. It's an ultra grade maxima, was about 5" at the time of purchase, and has been happy and healthy in my tank for about 6 months.

A freshwater dip won't hurt your clam. I have done them to battle pinched mantle and it was an easy successful cure. IMO it won't hurt to try. I did 20 minutes in a bag of RO tank temperature and used a turkey baster to blast the clam in the affected areas.
