replacement skimmer help/suggestions!!

I think the motors on my older skimmer are starting to go, they seem to be siezing often even after they have been soaked and cleaned. I really can not see a reason for them binding up.

My tank is a medium stocked (and getting heavier stocked) 120G. Please suggest good replacements for the $500 range.

Without a doubt, an Octopus SRO 2000 Int. It is rated at 180g, and goes for $359 at Premium Aquatics, one of our sponsors here. You can see that HERE. It also comes with a 3 year warranty on the pump, and their customer service is excellent. You can read that in their forum here.

Here is mine on mu 150g.

Give mojo a pm or look up his threads on reviews of skimmers. And do a search for sea side aquatics cs2 skimmers. If your handy check out avast marine . com. They are a sponser here and what they have to offer is pretty nice. It would be pretty cool to get the self cleaning skimmer cup. But you need to take into consideration what dimensions you are able to work with and the water level in your skimmer chamber. Most skimmers have a certain water level to keep the skimmer in for maximum efficiency. Give mojo a ring and tell him what your perameters are including max price, bio load, skimmer chamber dimensions including water height and inside max height of stand. Good luck and happy skimmer shopping

Love my super reef octopus xp3000. I'm running that on a heavily stocked 180.

I was thinking the Reef Octopus xp2000 or possibly the Skimz 181. Both are in the 400 to 450 range.

Anyone have videos of these in action? What pump do they use?

They're having problems with the Skimz line, lack of CS, bad impellers.
