MP10 or Tunze 6095?
I am thinking of replacing my older Koralia pump with either the MP10 or Tunze 6095. The tank is a nano tank and it will be the only pump in it. Any thoughts or opinions either way?

I like to view my system from the sides so having a powerhead in the middle does not interest me. I went with the 6095's so that I can have them in the back. The tunzes can be pointed any direction so it is has more options imo.

Hi, go for the Tunze, they are dead quiet after break in (if needed), you can also position them better for your corals and rock structure. I made the decision not to go with Vortech MP40's for my 120 and am doing Tunze 6105.

I have a 6095. It's a great pump. Wide flow, quiet, reliable... Good stuff.

Tunze pumps are nice pumps but I had a mp10 in a 25g and loved it. It was the only powerhead in the tank and it got the whole body of water moving well.

I love the 6095. I was able to "downsize" from 2 6105's to 2 6095's.

I just got an MP10 for my 40 breeder and I love it. I also have a koralia nano, but the MP10 creates some serious flow. If you don't mind a humming noise, then I would go with the Vortech. Otherwise, go with the silent Tunze

i just got rid of my vortechs for the tunzes cause i just couldnt take the noise anymore. i think the flow is better out of the tunze pumps also.

It's about a 105g tank, a corner pentagon. It's an odd shaped tank so the wide flow from the 6095 is great. I had a pair of 6105's with the 6205 shrouds to widen the flow. I had to turn them way down to prevent the sand from moving too much. I'm able to run the 6095's at normal speeds and get the same wide, gentle flow from a much smaller footprint pump.

I have 2 MP10s on my Solana and 2 MP40s on my 90, seems as if I take a few minutes and position them correctly, I can get them pretty quiet. I love the flow, as do my corals. I can create an awesome wave, which is great for water changes - unplanned, of course!

I'm working on a 60 gal cube build and wondering the same, MP10 or Tunze. Leaning toward the tunze for noise reasons.
Tank to house mostly montiporas and wondering if I should get one or two Tunze 6095's? What do you think? |

6095 is way overkill for a 25G. it can push water 3', no problem. id shop around for a 6055, used...more bang for the buck.
tunze's are dead silent....vortechs are whiney. it depends on what your needs are and your threshold for noise is. c |

I ended up going with 2 Tunze 6095's. I would say the flow is pretty comparable but the fact you can't hear them makes a world of difference to me.

Your going to need 2 minimum. I have 2 and it's damn near perfect for my 60g cube. I have mostly all SPS and proabably could use a tad more but so far things are happy.
