Fuzzy Brown Rocks
So I've had my tank setup since last September - going on its 8th month - and I'm having a problem with my rocks. They look like they're "soft" rocks now because of all the brown fuzzy stuff growing on it.
It does NOT have any defined structure like a typical algae. It's roughly 2-5mm deep over all the rock surface and slightly translucent. I can use a turkey baster and blow most of it off, but it will be back the next day. Sometimes it forms in strings, but nothing usually grows on the corals. I had a pretty significant Cyano problem, but it cleared up two months ago. Here is a link to what I was seeing BEFORE. Now it's much clearer and gunkier looking. Any idea what it is? Plus treatment options are always welcome. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2143230

How long has this been going on?
Are you using RODI water for topoff? What are you feeding? |
