Yellow tang tankmates
I have a yellow tang that is about 4in. in my 60 gallon tank.
1.As far as adding more fish, what would you guys recommend? I know that yellows are somewhat aggressive so should I stay away from peaceful fish like clowns? 2. Should the sizes of the fish be different or should I find a fish roughly the same size? I am aware that 60 is small for a tang. |

I've never had a problem with my yellow tang and tank mates. I have always heard not to mix tangs of the same species or body style. Its a same species type of aggression.
I've added small/large clowns, 6 lines, cardinals, chromis, blennys and a few others without any problems. I've never thought of my yellow tang as aggressive but I have a lightly stocked 6' long tank. |

Thank you for the reply. I want to stock light as well. I will most likely only keep 3 fish.

If you like clowns, they should be fine with a yellow tang. Mine is in a 180 with 13+ other fish and gets along with all of them.
