Purple stuff growing on live rock?

Hey all. Just noticed during some tank cleaning today that I've got several 1" spots of purple stuff growing on my live rock. Not sure what it is.

If anyone has any ideas let me know. I'll try to take a pic later.

Coralline if it's hard and doesn't come off. Cyanobacteria if it's slimy and comes off easily. Pics are always important for ID.
