BM Nac 6 overflowing

All,

I have a Bubble Magus NAC 6 that I have been running for a while. I have had it turned off since Friday, when I started a Chemi-Clean cycle (worked great on the cyano btw). I cleaned cleaned the cyclinder and the pump while it was off. Now when I turn it on, it overflows the collection cup in about 20 seconds. It is set to the lowest bubble level (which I believe is MAX on the NAC 6 for some reason). This is my first skimmer, and I don't know all the ins and outs, so any help would be great.

You will see on the chemi clean package it suggest to do a 20% water change, and then your skimmer will still be overflowing a little, but should settle down before too long.

You may just have to give it a little time. But, it will stop soon. BTW, I would try not to overdue the water changes.

Put PVC under the skimmer to lift it up more and that will help with the overflows
it may be in the water a bit deep

I only did the four, because that is 20% of my tank volume. I can only go 5 gallons at a time.

Yeah, I may do that. I was hoping this wasn't the case, since I have it at the same place it was before, but cleaning it out may have givin it some extra oomph. I found a drawf cerith snail stuck in the spin wheel pegs, so it is probably cranking much faster with that removed.

Make sure your airline isn't clogged.

Also, if you're using Stress Coat during water changes, it could cause excessive foaming.

Play with the bubble setting. If you have it set at max and it's still over flowing you may need to raise it up.

It means you still have junk in your tank. Run the skimmer wide open, and let it do it's job of removing the rest of the waste from the tank. Slowy put the skimmer at it's normal setting as it settles down.

I just went through this. Just have top off water ready to replace what it is removing. It took my SRO 2000 less than an hour to get all the remaining junk out of my 150g, and filling up the Octopus waste container 3 .5 times.

This may be true. I had it at this level previously, but maybe it had been close to the edge if the sump or somthing, which restricted flow. I'll get some eggcreate.

I set it up so that the drain line just runs into my filter sock. I don't have time to empty it every couple minutes. I'll be checking on it ater today.

Another good reason to get a waste container with an automatic shut off switch like mine in my pic. You won't have to empty it every couple of minutes, or for weeks if you keep good husbandry on your tank after this ordeal.

I think I have it at 10 inches. It seems to have calmed down quite a bit. I think the chemiclean just left ton's of crud in the water column.
