vermatid snail
They are harmless but their web can irritate corals. I would be more worried about the asternia stars.

Agreed. I worked at mine for about a month. Just grabbed them with a large set of tweezers. If I saw one, I'd get it out. This was over a year ago. Haven't seen any.

There are hundreds you can't see. And yes you are.
I just spent five or ten minutes a few times a day. It gets better as time goes on.

They might or might not do damage. There are over a thousand species. Most are harmless but a hobbyist cannot determine the differences.
You also seem to have some nutrient issues or lack of clean up crew based on the algae in the pictures. Consider increasing nutrient export, reducing feeding, and adding some mexican turbo snails.

More water changes, fuge, carbon. There's lots of ways. It's most likely the reason there's so mant stars. They need nutrients to breed out of control like that.

Essentially in our closed systems you must remove what you put in. If you don't everything goes great for a while and then it all comes crashing down rapidly.

Yea I can see that. The tank was doing great.
I think what triggered it. Was I got a foxface and he was being bullyed by my tang. Do to only feeding about once every 3 days. So he was hiding all the time. So I have been feeding daily and the alge, stars and snails have gotten bad. After about a 2 weeks of daily feeding the fish get along. |
