Yellow Vs Convict Tang

I have a yellow tang in my system for some months now but i bought him because I wanted one so badly. Now I got another tang that I also like a convict tang which is smaller than him. of course the yellow tang is picking on the convict tang. I wanted to try removing the yellow tang for ah while but i cant catch him at all. Is there any other solution?

Sometimes rearranging the rocks will reestablish territory but it is not guaranteed to work.

I don't think they suggest that you should keep those together without releasing them into the tank at the same time.

you should of taken the scopas and the convict the same day so when they were added, the aggression would of been divided. Right now you might have to hurry and get the scopas and add them also rearanging the rocks will also work as Maaka said.

I think you should do a little more research before buying a fish that will have problems in your tank. The convict tang is very peaceful and shouldnt be kept with other tangs. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...aGEqZRpPokzO_w

He's finally settled and moving around like a normal tang. I havent seen him eat any pellets or nori but he has been picking at the rocks and the sand bed.

How long should i wait before I put back the yellow tang? I may not take the scopas tang because I am considering my bio load at the moment.

Once he's picking at the rocks and sand bed you know thats a good sign. Might take him a couple days to start to really eat. He's still settling in. You can leave the yellow out for about another wk or so and put the scopas in same time. What are the fishes you got in the tank at the moment?

So I introduced the yellow tang back into the main display and everything is going well now. It seems that he and the convict tang are best friends now. I will no longer be purchasing the scopas tang because I have some other expenses but soon I will get some other stuff like corals and invertebrates.

Still had some off and on fights with the yellow tang and the convict, but i bought a sailfin tang that is as small as the convict tang but he suprisingly has the yellow tang in check.lol. Its unbelievable how the yellow tang has settled
