Apex setup, moved to the aquarium, now won't startup

Hello everyone. I've just begin using my new Apex and I'm having a problem. I have the Apex base module, display, and 2 EB8's. I was able to get setup and discoverable on my network. I named and programed my outlets and configured my display. (I am still setting up the aquarium, so I had only a few outlets functioning.) I unplugged the EB8's and plugged both of them into the outlets next to my aquarium, but couldn't startup. I had both yellow lights blinking on the EB8's and the yellow light next to the ethernet input on the base module. I unplugged both EB8's, disconnected one from the chain, and plugged in the EB8 connected to the display and base mod, but the same thing happened. I took them back to the outlets originally used for configuration, but I haven't seen a difference. I've tried unplugging for a few hours, connecting both EB8s individually to the base and display, but no change. I still have a yellow light on an EB8 blinking and the yellow light on the base mod next to ethernet. If I plug in the ethernet to the router the green light also turns on next to ethernet input. The status light on the base mod has not turned on at all, nor has the display. Although the base is connected to the router via ethernet, I cannot discover my apex using flash utility or web. Is there something obvious I did wrong? What should I do?

Thank you for your help everyone. I'm very new to techy stuff, so please be elementary in your advice.

Blake

Thank you for your time and help,
Blake

Looking through the forums, I decided to try to run FlashUtility and update the firmware, even though it is up to date. My apex was not discovered, but it was listed under controllers with the correct ip address (set to static on the apex). I ran update, but received this report shown in the screen shot attachment below:

This is the key symptom - you need to contact Neptune support. Email is best: support@neptunesys.com

I'm assuming that you've run the Apex Flash Utility before - if so, the utility remembers the last settings used, so that's probably why it showed the proper IP address and other info.

Are you using the same USB/Aquabus cables to connect the EB8 and the base that you did before? Just wondering if it could be a bad cable?

I did use the same cables. I spoke with support and they had me use a 12V, 1A adaptor to see if the base mod was accepting power appropriately. It wasn't, so it's going back to Apex. I'm still hopeful everything will go smoothly when it returns. It sounds like people have pretty good luck with apex. Thank you for your replies.

did you try unplugging eathernet cable and then reboot?... i had simulat problem, if the base unit cant get a ip address on fire up it just freezes up and stays in yellow blink mode...

Sorry I was slow to reply. I did try that, but I never even had a status light, yellow or green.
