Fish List suggestions for a 120g
I am trying to figure out what fish to put in my new 120-gallon tank. I have been doing some research and came up with this list. Also I am thinking about sps down the road.
Moorish Idol Firefish Pair Sleeper Banded Goby Leopard Wrasse Pair Dispar Anthias I was thinking to start out with the first five because the Moorish Idol and the Leopard Wrasse are hard to get eating and putting them with peaceful fish will make it easier. Powder Blue Tang Regal Angelfish Clownfish M/F I would like any suggestions on if I have too many fish or any fish I should remove. Also do you think a Reef Octopus Super Sro 1000Int skimmer will be sufficient for this tank. Thanks |

Very few people have been able to keep a Moorish Idol alive for more than 6 months, even fewer a year. IMHO they are a fish best left in the ocean. As to the firefish, if possible try to find a mated pair because they will fight if they are not mated. There is a lot of room in your 120 so it is likely an unpaired set would find room to co-exist, but if the dominate fish sets up camp in the middle of the tank, it could be trouble for the other firefish. I've had great luck with Helfrich's firefish over the years in terms of them staying out in the open, regular red and purple firefish spend a lot of time hidden away in the rocks. Outside of the Moorish Idol, I don't see any major problems with your selection.

I would wait a while for the leopard wrasse let alone a pair. They are very very poor shippers and survival rate is not very good.
