weird line in sand?
there is this weird line in my sand. its been there for a few days. my tank is a little over a week into the cycle. the line doesnt seem to move at all and hasnt moved from its location. but it has gotten bigger and changed shape over the last few days. at first it was just the bottom "U" portion. then it grew upwards towards the top layer of the sand. now it has a little curve in the part that extends upward. any idea on what this is? sorry for porr quality pics. cant figure out how to get good pics with the digital camera we have

It looks like a tunnel made by a worm.

The worm is most likely elsewhere by now, that is just the empty tunnel left behind.

The worm tunnels left by spionid worms can look like that. I'm sure other worm holes can too, but that's what came to mind when I saw it.
I recently had a section of my sand bed completely destroyed by a nesting fish. It was fascinating to watch the sand critters try to run for cover. Spionids are ugly but harmless, and usually use bits of sand to create themselves a tunnel if they're out of the sand bed or against rock. Under sand, though, they look like a brown line in the sand.

That is a worm, is color red or orange, I have them on my tank, I don't really know the name, but is like a spaghetti worm, if you don't want it you can always catch it up and throw it away.

Absolutely a worm... Completely normal, and a good thing. Means your sand bed is maturing.
