Surge tank (for overflow protection) Help.
Here is what I have done so far... My sump does not have enough volume to contain back flow in event of power failure so I have a 1 inch bulk head at the top of my sump that I will have drain into a remote tank (rubbermaid container).
I want to make sure that if the power comes back on that the system is refilled, so I want to run a float switch (upside down) so when power comes back on the switch will activate a MJ1200 to run the water back into the sump. Concerns I have covered: 1.My ATO will not overfill with fresh water because the ATO float is below the water line of the surge bulkhead. 2. If the sump over fills due to main pump failure, the surge tank wil just pump into the sump and it will flow back into the surge as a loop and wont overfill. 3. The MJ1200 runs at much less flow rate than my Little Giant Return and there is no potential of overflow and even if it did, it would just flow back into the surge tank. These are the 2 biggest concerns I had. Does any one suggest any particular float switch that can run in reverse (Activates when float goes up instead of down)? As Always... Thanks!!
