My flame angel a bully?

Hi Forum.

Last week, I bought a flame angel along with 2 chromis and placed them in my 20g QT.

Water parameters are good and I do a 25% water change every 4 days from the DT.

2 days before, I discovered 1 of the chromis stuck to the filter intake and removed it immediately.

This morning, I found the other chromis on the floor of the tank.

There were no visible signs on either chromis that they had any type of diseases or injuries on their bodies.

When I observed all of the fish previously, I never saw the flame angel going after either of the chromis.

What do you guys think?

Either my flame angel was bullying them when I wasn't around or I just got a bad batch of Chromis from the LFS.

I had the impression that a chromis was a pretty hardy fish.

The chromis could be the suspect. I had bought 3 at one times and within 2 weeks being in QT, they were all dead. They killed each other off.

Chromis are hardy...but you always end up with one...or in our case none lol

ok - I understand they will kill each other off but how does the last Chromis end up dead by itself?

Ive asked myself the same question. Never gto an answer. Maybe enough damage from 2 chromis fighting that it couldnt recover or stress.

Like I said, I had 3 and they all killed each other. I even checked my water for ammonia thinking that was the possible culprit since one had died in the tank. Well no ammonia.

Chromis used to be considered very hardy fish; lately, this forum is full of reports of them dying like flies. I have no idea why.
