Apex controller and led question

Greetings all!!

I have ordered 3 led units for my 72" tank.
I am getting ready to order an APEX controller (so excited).

It trying to plan ahead, this thing comes with the 8 bar outlet and I will have 6 plugs just for the BLUE and WHITE bank of LED's.

I was wondering how other folks set this up.
Do you use 6 outlets?
Or do you split them off run all the BLUES off one outlet and all the WHITES of another?

Thanks for the advice!!

I personally have my lights on extension cords and then just use one plug each color on my Apex. Once you have it you will find too many uses for it, on plug real estate will get high.

Use one plug for each color, you will need those outlets for other things

Agree if they are dimmable and will use a 0-10v signal you can just power the led up and control the intensity with the analog output from the apex.

highjack alert sorry-

what would you guys do if you had 36 leds, 3 mean wells split up by 1) 12 cw, 2) 12rb, & 3) 6cw/6rb? Would you need to purchase the VDM module if you have the regular Apex?

Would you know if the Kessil a150's are dimmable with the Apex or Apex Jr.?

Does Kessil lights support dimming?

The dimming is controlled by variable outputs not the 8 port power strip. The apex has 4 outputs for dimming. If you want more you will have to buy another Variable Speed Dimming Module which will give you 4 more. All my lights plugs into a power strip that only use one outlet on the apex.

Mine will be dim able. Looks like I'm ok with just 2 outlets. I didn't realize only 4 were dimmable. So this makes sense.

I have also considered the VDM.

But that's another post,

Thanks guys.

Anymore feedback welcome.

+1 here as well, but to avoid all those power cords I have a 3 Mean Well ELN-60-48 running of a single power cord to the EB8.
Also worth mentioning, the LEDs running on the above drivers still emit a slight glow with the VDM @ 0% and have to have the drivers power down to shut them off completely.

No, you can't dim Kessils with the APEX VDM signal without some modifications.

The software included with the Radion fixture is far more advanced than what the APEX offers for LED control......not to mention, you get the full graphic interface.

When is Kessil coming out with Dimable and Tunable A150's?

For the time being is there anything that will make the Kessils dim?

I've heard you can dim kessils but you need to take them apart first and do some work. Also rumor has it they will come out with a disable A150 in the next 6 months or so. Hopefully less.

So I wouldn't want to run the radions through the apex? Dang it I was hoping to have control of everything through one control feature. That's one of the reasons for getting the apex instead of a 3pro. I could've used a pro if I gotta run everything on there own controller! Now I'm bummed......
