Massive CL pump on timer 5min on 5 off?
I have about 5000GPH CL pump that uses about 4 amps. Currently I have it setup on my Apex 5 mins on and 5 mins off. currently FOWLR and only have a few fish. tanks 5x2x2 pinensula with outputs on the far ends with input in middle of other end. I have a powerhead (koraline?) behind the input.
Is this a good idea? It helps with the electricity usage but I don't want a negative effect on everything. Should I add another powerhead or 2? completely turn off the CL? Leave it on? larger on/off times? |

The only drawback I can think of, barring the pump g a minimum run time without putting stress on the motor, is that livestock (such as snails) getting into the impeller.
