••45gallon lighting question••
So I really wanted a kessil light but didn't want to brake the bank on 2. I was wondering if I could by one 150 kessil skyblue & hang it about 6inches above the tank. Could I only get away with one and still have good growth on soft corals?

You will have good growth of softies and LPS but only in the center of the tank. you will have a huge drop off of light on the sides of your tank, not just light for the coral but also to your eyes, the ends of your tank will look very dim. You could start out with one and deal with the darkness as you save up for a second, just make sure if you buy and coral to place it in the center of the tank. Also look at the used section, they pop up for a good deal every now and again.

I actually just sold two 150s and purchased the 350. I would not even consider the 150 with the intro of the 350. Splurge and get the 350. Trust me you will love it It's brighter and dimmable. You can go from 10 k to 20 k in a few turns of the knob. I loved my 150s but value wise the 350 is the way to go. One should work fine if your tank is not to long. I have one over my 52 corner bowfront about a foot above and it works great. I got the A350 instead of the A350W and it is perfect. If you have a wider shallow tank get the A350W... Trust me you will love the 350 and it's well worth the money. You will end up getting another 150 going your route , so just get the 350 off the bat.. It's a great light..
