coralline scraping and Ca/Alk consumption

Will scraping my back glass of coralline result in less Ca/Alk consumption from that algae, inturn providing more Ca/Alk for my corals to absorb?

I experienced a significant decrease in the demand of alk and cal after essentially scraping coralline.

Last weekend I replaced a tank in my system and at the same time completely cleaned the sump. Both of which were pretty much covered in coralline.

The demand fell to half almost instantly. I am back on kalk only + mag.

If you're hoarding coralline, you might reconsider.

u may see a slight low consumption after scrapping but it will land and grow more as it releases spores and settle in. by slight it really is slight barely noticeable.

NOT if you remove one tank, and scrap the other clean OUTSIDE of your system

You can always scrape it into a fine mesh net and throw it away during a water change. It's worked for me and I've never seen it grow where it lands.
