LED + T5 and affordable! AgroLEDs.

Got a lot on my plate these days, but I may have to test these guys to see what the color is like and the PAR. At $80 a tube and under $300 for a fixture it's a bargain for sure!

fixture $230
4 x T5 $100
4 x T8 LED $320

Total for 8 lamp LED + T5 fixture = $650

AgroLED Fixture

AgroLED T8 LED tubes
50/50 blue/white w/ 288 LEDs total!

Can they be plugged into any fixture? I'd love a pair for my 75

Has anyone tested these further? The fixtures have gone down in price considerably; I found one online for $169 for the 8 bulb setup...

I'm dubious. This is meant for growing plants. The white/blue LED spectrum is for plants in the vegetative stage, the red LED spectrum is for plants in the flowering stage. The 48" LED tube consumes only 22 watts and contains 288 LEDs. That means each LED is driven to 76 mW. With so little power running to each LED they're going to have minimal penetration through water. Most LED fixtures used for aquaculture are based upon 3W LEDs. Some of the Newer LEDs can handle as much as 10W. It also looks like it has very cruddy reflectors with minimal bends for the T5's. I'd leave this one for the people growing plants.
