Coralife compact florescent actinics not working
I've recently purchased a Coralife 250 watt x 2 metal halide light fixture, which includes two 96-watt compact florescent actinic bulbs. These compact florescents haven't been working for over a year, apparently. The previous owner said that one day they just weren't working. I assume both of them stopped working at the same time.
Each compact florescent has its own ballast, which I am thinking of replacing. Does anyone know if one ballast were to stop working if both bulbs would be affected? The odds of both bulbs or both ballasts failing to work at the same time seems unlikely, but what do I know. Any ideas? Thanks |

The lamps are powered independently so if one goes bad the other will not be affected.
If they have been running more than a year the lamps need to be replaced anwyays. I would start with replacing the lamps and see if that solves the issue. The only common connection is the power cord and switch. It could be possible that a faulty switch could cause both lamps to go out. Andy |
