My sump is DIY acrylic, about 40 gallons of water volume:
Left side has my Reef Octopus OCTX-200 on a DIY acrylic stand and a 300 micron filter sock hidden behind it: Next is the live rock section (all homemade aragocrete), deep sand bed with sand-dwelling clams, and return section with Ocean Runner OR6500 return pump & 2 heaters: Last is the fuge with caulerpa prolifera maxima in a shallow dish with sand & chaeto in the back: I have three Avast Marine custom-cut reactors with pellets, carbon, and GFO - each is fed individually from a JG manifold teed off from the return. The three reactors drain to feed the fuge. The fuge light is a waterproof 10-watt LED spotlight from eBay that is totally awesome:

^ Some amazing sumps!
Here's mine. Nothing fancy, though, and only clean because the tank is cycling. |

30 gallon sump/fuge combo. Currently have lots of chaeto, grape caulerpa, kenyan tree coral and some cyano as well as a uv steralizer and a jbj heater. Does a good job sucking up po4 and NO3 as I never have any detectable levels in the DT. Light is one 12 watt 6500K Par 38 LED run opposite the lights on the DT. Does a nice job with no heat and little power, it's even dimmable and has a built in timer with a ir remote! Not a bad light for $50! And I don't have to replace it for 5 years! I'm sold!

Mine isn't exactly clean and organized but it is functional.
Left door, housing ph and orp controller, power distribution, ozone generator, fuge light and heater controller Middle door, housing DJ strip, CaRx, Tunze drivers and pucks and controllers Right door, housing skimmer, PhosBan reactors and CO2 bottle Looking at how neat other people have theirs, I may have to revamp at some point...nah, it works.

Here is my simple sump. SWC 160 skimmer, Mag9.5 return, Eheim heater, and maxijet 900 powerhead for my 2 reactors. I use dual filter socks that get changed weekly.
