FINALLY got my Mg,Cal,Kh test kit...need some input!

Alk-15-16 range
Calcium-460-480 range
Mg- over 1600 ( think I messed test up though)

First time I've ever tested for any of these...I'm not dosing anything, what are my next steps? Are things good, terrible?

Help me out?!

Thanks everyone

Alk is high (8-12 dkh is the range), mag can be up to 1800 ppm without any ill effects and cal is fine. Make sure tank is topped off and check in the morning to see if everything holds.

I've got that new red sea combo kit...all three tests come together for like 50 bucks. And I have Instant Ocean salt...but i buy my RoDi from my LFS pre mixed. I am doing 5g changes weekly.

If you are not dosing anything, I'd recommend that you retest. IME, you can't get results that high without overdosing.

i have same test and hated it. only used it like 4 times in 3 months. decided to take it back to the LFS and get something else but i also took a sample so while i was complaining that i was told how good it was that i must be doing something wrong so we tested it together. the problem i had was probably the same thing your doing wrong. when it flashes and then changes back that is your results. it should not change and stay changed.
