Sump design questions

I am building out a 210 that has two corner overflows and was going to drain one into one sump 70G and then the other drain would go into a second sump a150G rubber-maid tub. I was going to plumb them with 2" bulk head for the rubber maid going into a 2" t then I was going to leverage 2 1" bulk heads T'ed and joining the main T back to the return pump that would go to a manifold and return as well. I would naturally have disconnects and Ball valves to ensure that I could cut off either sump when ever I needed to.

Does any one see any problem with this? Has any one done something like this before.

I was wondering if any one had words of wisdom. on this design.

Thanks

So has no one had issues tying 2 sumps together in this manner?

You need to tie the two sumps together. If the pump failed in the 70 gallon water from other one would make it overflow.

If the top is at the same level for both sumps then they will not overflow. As long as the top of the 70 gallon sump is at the same highth as the 150 then the 70 would not overflow unless there was some issue in equalizing the volumes of water. Given the two 1" drains T'ing into a 2" line I would think that the equalization would not be an issue.

When you pump water in to dt 50% will go down each overflow. The 50 gallon will overflow unless you have a equalizing line that is below the top of the two sumps. A way for the extra water being pumped into the 50 gallon to get over to the other sump. Draw a picture of what your plan is.
