Solar Lighting????

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has used solar tubes for their aquarium and what success you have had.

I am planning to use three solar tubes on my 1200 gallon reef that is about 3 months old. I am currently using MH but the heat it produces is ridiculous and the price isnt very nice either.

There are some people using them with success. Many people use actinics to supplement the very yellow lighting. Most I have seen are in FL or southern CA. I would switch to LEDs if you are concerned about power and heat.
