5000k LEDs..
I have seen alot of LED setups utilizing 5000k LEDs... I just bought an 8W 5000k bulb today to supplement the lighting in my Evolve 8...
I always thought that lights in the 5000k range would give you nuisance algae problems.. Is is different with LEDs.. or?

Why would you think that? Algae comes from nutrients and light, so based on your logic, if you had no nutrients but switched to a lower k bulb algae would grow even without nutrients? It doesn't work that way, in order to have algae yu need the nutrients and the light, if you don't have the nutrients, then it doesn't matter how much or what spectrum the lights are. It is really that simple.

No worries, people still try to blame algae on light instead of their husbandry practices, some things never change. Keep the water clean and you won't have any worries.

Color spectrum can influence algae growth. Lower k values tend to cause more growth and don't look as nice as higher values. But, if you have no nutrients, you won't experience growth until the regular bloom anyway.
