HELP!!!! Corals not doing well
I've had some pretty sudden declines in my tank in the last few weeks. SPS losing color. LPS dying. Lost xxxl frogspawn ive had for two years. All mushrooms detached from rocks. Not sure what happened. All fish are great. I did have a bad temp spike to 84, but not for very long. Cal. 460, alk 4.5, nitrate is 5ppm, I use luqid reef , reef code b for buffer, and replentish trace elements, all from brightwell. The only thing that happened was that temp spike and it was a few hours. Help!!!

Alk 4.5? Is that different than KH? Unless I'm misunderstanding that's very low. Mine sits around 8.5 and everything is all good. What about your mg?

I'd test your ph mushrooms like a high ph so if they are dropping that could be one of the problems. Test your salinity. Definitely do a water change maybe two or three in a short period of maybe 1-1.5 weeks. Water changes usually help fix most water parameter problems.
If all else fails did you add anything from your lfs and get copper in your system? Just don't freak out use your brain and make good decisions. You'll figure it out.

Sounds like we may have found the culprit here. Test your magnesium level and post your results.
