metal halide bulbs

Can I use any double ended 250w metal halide bulb in my fixture? I have an Aqua Medic fixture and bulbs are 100$ a pc, but i can find good bulbs for 50$ or less. Can I use these in the fixture i have?

i have some corals (3 toadstools, one rock with 6 mushrooms, one rock of star polyps, and one rock of bigger polyps) i had a disease and lost all my fish a few months ago so i am leaning towards getting a lion and some semi aggressive fish. I found this halide on craigslist cheap but figure it needs new bulbs. i was wondering do they have to be the same brand, or is that just a name?

Brand name does not matter, but types of ballasts do. Some magnetics will not fire some bulbs or may overdrive them if they are not rate for that ballast. Electronic ballasts will fire almost any bulb, though they may not run them to spec. Any labels on the ballast ?
