starfish idenification help
i keep hearing some starfish may not be good for a reff tank, found this little guy in my tank and although i have already named him bob, is bob a goodie for my tank or do i need remove him....

Even though the picture's not working, I'm guessing it's either an asterina star or a small brittle star. The brittle stars are ok in a reef tank, but there have been reports of the asterina stars feeding on certain corals. IMO it's best to remove them on site.

Agree with cloak, bristle are ok as long as you can tell difference between them and a Fireworm. Iv made a habit of removing all hitch hiking starfish after half a zoa colony disappeared. If you have one there may be more, some can be very had to see blending into rocks
