Feeding question
So when I change things up and feed the fish brine or mysis should I defrost in tank water and then strain out the initial fluid? Or can add the frozen fish food directly to tank to defrost and disperse.

I recommend defrosting in a little tank water and straining before adding to tank.

I've never had any problems throwing food into the tank to defrost & disperse. Check out this link.

I defrost in tank water then disperse. I feed flake in the morning then thaw some brine and feed slowly the rest of the day. I even let some brine sit over night and feed in the morning. They seem to love itand go crazy for the older stuff.

I do the same, I usually feed a flake or pellet in the morning, then in afternoon/evening they get the good stuff... on the bright side, all my fish eat flakes.. well, cept the scooter and mandarin ... finicky fish...

I have a small cup with a spout that was one part of a travel iron kit that I use to defrost the frozen cube's. I feed three cubes of mysis, two PE and one Hikari. I fill the cup with tank water and add the cubes, once defrosted I use the turkey baster to agitate the mixture and pour off the water once the shrimp have settled to the bottom. I fill the turkey baster up with tank water again, and fill the cup and pour off the water until it appears clear. I think I already have enough PO4 going into the tank that I don't want to add more...GFO is expensive.

I fill a medicine cup with tank water, throw in a frozen cube, let it sit, and 10 minutes later dump it in the tank.
