I would like to start a thread about Aquarium stores. I don’t know if this appropriate, but I will give it a try. Maybe the thread will be deleted immediately...

I am traveling a lot throughout the US. If I have time, I like to visit some local Aquarium stores. It is always tough to find good stores.

So far, I have visited 100 + stores. Unfortunately, there are many stores, which do not care much about the inhabitants of their aquariums.

Therefore, I would like to share the stores, which are IMO worth a visit. (Meaning, I just looked at the stores if they were clean and well maintained. I didn’t purchased any livestock) Please keep in mind that the visits happened over 2-3 years. There may be some stores out of business, or have changed owners today.

I would appreciate ( and may be others too), if fellow reefers would share their knowledge about local stores. Especially for beginners it might be a good start with one of these stores.

I got my 180gal tank from "Sho Tank". Opened even for me to pick the tank up. Has also good used stuff!

Marietta Ga - Cappuccino Bay has gone out of business, and Optimum has relocated to 840 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Come on down to Virginia Beach, Va, we've got some fantastic stores here, most within a few min. of each other.

Reef Chief, Fish Safari, Animal Jungle, Pet Paradise and Reef Room to name a few...

Oh, no. Aquarium Adventure in NY sucks so bad, it just blows. Overpriced, unprofessional. So many people had bad experiences with them, myself included.

I realize the last post on this thread was two years ago, but +1 on Virginia Beach area stores. Reef Chief, Fish safari, and Atlantic sea farms are all great stores for corals (Reef Chief the best).
