T5 LED combo comfusion
So i thought I had it all figured out: LED is alot of bang for the buck and totally adjustable and T5 provides proved results .... my thought why not combine them to produce epic results.
So I put togeather a 36 3W LED DIY configuration on 2 dimmable controllers. To this I DIYed a 4 bulb T5 ficture with individual reflectors and set up my bulbs with 2 ATI Purple plus and 2 ATI coral plus. With my LED at 100% and all of my T5 bulbs running the tank color is fantastic. My question is how much light am i producing? I have the DIY hood on a 120gal. 24" deep. The canopy is mounted about 10" above the water. Any and all thoughts or suggestions appreciated! The tank is 4 months old now and i am having sucess but would like to know if I am on the low end or high end with lighting. ALso: does the 2 ATI purple plus and 2 ATI coral plus provide a full spectrum for growth and coloration? THANKS!!!! |

The purple and coral plus have very similar wavelengths/spectrums. Without a par meter it's hard to know exactly what your putting out, but your growth and happiness of coral is a pretty good indicator.
Edit. I know mostly blue and spikes of green and red for the spectrums on the bulbs. |

Dont understand the referance to spikes. Do you suggest replacing any of the t5 bulbs for fuller spectrum?
