Aiming these stupid powerheads! HELP
I'm asking for the general consensus. I have a standard 90. Overflow is just left of center. I have 2 x 750gph Koralias and 1 x 1400 gph Koralia. As it sits right now:
750 Overflow 1400 750 All are located 2" under the water mostly pointed center of the water column or lower. I'm keeping a mix of Softies, LPS and SPS. Softies and LPS on the bottom and SPS up top. Would this: Overflow 750, 1400, 750 (all on one side of the tank) ALL pointed towards stage left be of any use? Be detrimental? Any advantages? I would like to, in the near future, add a Koralia controller to the mix and have it running the two 750s. Thats in the future though.

I've found aiming powerheads to be more of an art. you want good flow but you don't want your sand to go everywhere.
my opinion would be, the 1400 on the right side pointing left, the 750 on the left pointing right and the other 750 somewhere on the back wall pointing forward. I'm not an expert but it makes sense in my head. others will chime in. |
