Do vortechs need lubrication?

One of mine that's not running in a tank right now is binding or showing a little resistance when I turn the propeller.

No they don't need lube. Have you taken it apart? I would break it down to pieces and vinegar bath it for 24hrs. The recheck it.

x2, take it apart and soak it in vinegar water 24 hours then re-assemble
