New CB not eating.
Got a coral beauty from the LFS, he said they'd had it for about 2 weeks, and were feeding it brine shrimp and he ate just fine. They didn't feed him there, but it was during breakfast time and you could tell he was about ready to throw himself out of the tank to be fed.
This is morning #3 and he hasn't eaten. He sort of chases the food around and acts like he's going to eat, but then doesn't. I've tried mysis, brine, pellets, flakes, and red algae strips and he won't touch any of it. He has, however, taken to eating algae on the rock, and even trying to pick at the back of snails. I live in south NM, so I'm land-locked in a small town, and the options for fresh seafood are slim to none. I was thinking trying garlic extract. Anyone else have suggestions? |

Garlic will sometimes work. I'd definitely give it a shot. I don't have any experience with coral beauties specifically, but I have had a few very finicky eaters. If you can get your hands on some live brine shrimp, they're not overly nutritious, but can sometimes get the fish eating. If you haven't already, you could also ask your LFS what they were feeding him (assuming he was actually eating there).

My CB was a little picky the first couple of weeks. He really loves Ocean Nutrition Green Marine Algae Fish Food and Brine Shrimp. The Marine Algae just clip it in your aquarium. Am sure he'll come around.

I'll try some green algae, so far he hasn't shown interest in the red, but I'm a real picky eater too so I know how it is. I'll call back the LFS and see. Since I murdered my poor shrimp I need to call him anyhow.

I would definitely try the green stuff, my fish hate the red.
