40 breeder return
I just got one today and am trying to figure out what to do. I am going to order the 700 gph overflow for glass holes. I am also going to get a 3/4 return. I have a eheim 300 pump for a sump too. My question is, can I also get another 3/4 return to have to and put the overflow in the middle and have a return on both sides? Or will there be too little flow? Or should I just stick to the overflow on one side and a return on the other?

You could go with 2 1/2" that is what I did but depending on your return may require reducers.

I just finished setting up a system with the 700gph overflow. Keep in mind that it's really rated at 200 - 500gph. I used the Aqueon 3500 and it over pumped the overflow. I had to place a gate valve on the return to reduce the flow. So I think two returns would not be needed.

Curious don't mean to hijacked the thread but what type of bulkhead you went with? I have a 55g I'm planning in going with 1" bulkhead for my return and overflow. I was looking at the bulkhead from brs and they have different types one so I'm confuse.
Also if you had to dial down with a valve on your return I think it would be best to have 2 returns to stress less your pump. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2 |
