Reflector for 250 radium
Ok so I'm trying to pick a reflector for the radium lamp. Someone recommended lumenmax elite. Theres also the Cozumel sun from Hamilton the cayman with moon lights from Hamilton.
Lumen bright from coralvue And probably countless others I like the sunlight supply products plus they are only a 30 minute drive from my house for warrantee issues but I also like the fact that the cayman sun has built in moonlights. Please give me your recommendations if you gave experience with these reflectors or others Thanks Jorge |

Really any of the large "lumnenarac style" refletors like LumenArc, Hamiltons, LumenBrights, LumenMax etc are all very effectiv reflectors. I usually choose Sunlight supply because I use Lumatke and BlueWave ballasts, both from them, they have a proprietary plug that matches ballast--->Reflector so I have no splice wires.

I'm leaning toward the cayman sun because of the LEDs. Any thoughts?

At this time I am also looking at the Hamilton Cabo Sun Mini Reflector. My only concern is needing to splice wires and reconnect things, looking more for it to be able to plug in directly. Following this thread |

You can always buy a lamp cord for your particular ballast and rewrite the pendant.

It really depends on the tank dimensions.

+1 on the Lumenmax elite! I had three lumen bright mini's - but was limited on space over the tank (only 12") and had the spot light effect... the Lumen Max Elite's seem to work much better - and they say they reflect more light? I don't have the stats to back that up, but what I can say is they are awesome over my tank!

I have the caymen sun and am happy with it on my 30x30x18" square. There is a slight shadow on in the middle, Where the lamp ends... But i figure thats a lamp thing, not reflector thing. The LEDs are nice but a little bright for my taste... And they only light on side. Its well made, comes with hanging kit and I'm happy with the price point. I ended up buying the ice cap male plug to attach it but its not necessary.
I use a reeflex cube ballast and love it (along with 12 3w RB LEDs for actinic) |

Ok I ordered the reflex m80 ballast and a radium lamp. I'm going to pick up a lumenbright mini reflector on Thursday. I'm exited. I'm trying to convey how exiting this I'd too my wife, but she doesn't get it. Btw the tank is 24x24, will 16" off the water be ok?

Ok I bought the lumenbright mini and started building a rack. I used some rails and brackets from HD to be able to mount on the wall and still adjust the height without drilling a million hole in the wall.

I can't get this running yet because I'm waiting from an adaptor from aqua medic which apparently was already delivered by USPS...
