Publications Inquiry
Hey All,
First off, this is my first post on the site. I'm excited to be a part of the community. I am a "trial and error" taught aquarist with about 7 years and 3 -4 tanks under my belt. Never done a reef though and it's my next big challenge. Therefore I consider myself a complete novice and want to learn the trade all over again from the ground up. I'm also a lawyer and an avid studier and I like to do my homework before starting a project, especially when animals lives are at stake. My question is this: Can any of you recommend some good "how to" books on reefing (preferably covering setup and initial phases in great detail)? What Magazines are worth subscribing to? etc. What are some of the books you refer to when you have questions? I appreciate any help leading in the right direction. Thanks all, Gil |

The concientious marine aquariest by Bob Fenner is a great one that I refer to. Also the stickies at the top of the new to hobby section is very good.

These are what I have:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Conscienti...ref=pd_sim_b_2 http://www.amazon.com/Marine-Aquariu...ref=pd_sim_b_7 http://www.amazon.com/Marine-Reef-Aq...ef=pd_sim_b_12 Out of these - I would choose Martin Moe's book first. The "Conscientious Marine Aquarist" is a bit more of a reference book and is a little bit preachy (for a good reason) - it just takes more reading to get what you need out of it.
