Bristle Worm Spawn event may have killed Foxy

My fox face died yesterday or the day before..... I cant pin it on the bristleworms, but anyone else have any fish issues after this GROSS event or am I

The reason I cant pin it on one item, I was in the middle of doing a water change when this all happened. I had all pumps turned off and 10 gallons drained out the 24 gallon cardiff, water is calm and all of a sudden a softball sized cloud is sprayed out from under one of my rocks, and the cloud then starts to settle on the sandbed. I had no idea what this was so I quickly siphoned most of it out immediately. Little did I know this was worm goo.

While I was almost finished cleaning up that mess and I get to see a HUGE worm butt poke out from the same rock and did it again. I continued to siphon it all out and completed my water change as usual. The following day I noticed my fox face (Foxy Brown) was deep behind the rocks and looked like she was keeled over and barely moving. an hour later she was outside the rocks and floating on her side at the bottom of the tank. Another hour went by and there was no longer movement.

The water was made by me, RO/DI mixing station, same water used to do a water change in my biocube 14g earlier that night without incident. The 6 line wrasse and two peppermint shrimp were not affected. 1.025 salinity matched the water column.... 81 degrees, matched the temp. Didnt stir up the sand bed...

Ive only had Foxy two months, so its really hard to say... any clue if the spawning could harm the fish?

You had the foxface in a 24 gallon tank? If so I would say it was not happy to begin with.

Sorry for your loss.

Sunny

We got her as a baby, getting her ready to move to the new Office 180 reef being built currently. She was about an inch and a half, if that...

Thanks, losing a fish for us is rare. Sad day.

sorry for your loss, How long had you had Foxy? you sure she wasn't stuck and panicked and died from the stress or lack of movement\air through the gills (suffocation)?

Just under 2 months... a new member of the family.
I was excited about seeing her in the big tank at our business....

Are the little young ones possibly less hardy?
